Eric and JeVon - A Sweetheart Session in Manayunk PA

Gay Sweetheart Session Manayunk Philadelphia

I have known Eric a little over a year and always found him to be one of the sweet men I know.  He listens well, is always so friendly, deeply cares about the Philly LGBTQ community and is the kind of person you want around when your having a rough day.  He has always been SO supportive of Jordan and I which means so much to me.  So when we got together yesterday with his handsome boyfriend JeVon, magic happened.  These two are so adorably in love and easy to photograph!  So much so that this morning while trying to choose favorites for their preview, I literally edited the whole session!  I just couldn't choose!

Main Street of Manayunk made the perfect backdrop for their session and the glowy summer sun paired with the way these two look at each other made for some of my favorite images in a while.  After months of weddings, shooting a slow paced sweetheart session was a welcomed change of pace and I am thrilled to share some of my favorites with all of you!

Eric and JeVon, thank you for allowing me steal ya'll for an hour and a half yesterday, for the beautiful flowers and mostly for the good conversation and your friendship.  You are both such wonderful people and I am so glad we have folks like ya'll in our lives.

It's so easy to forget WHY this job is so important.  Photos help preserve what we one day maybe won't remember and that is exactly why I wanted to share this sweet 3 generation family session!  They contacted me because grandpa (the gentleman in the yellow) had been diagnosed with end stage cancer and they wanted some nice photos together before he began treatment.  We picked a little spot in their backyard for their session and it was obvious, that even in such a difficult time, the family was holding on because of their love for each other.  The two sweet little boys won't remember these photos but it was such an honor to capture them with their grandpa so they have these images to cherish for years to come.  Never forget to have your own family, no matter what it looks like, photographed.  Life is oh so fleeting!

Intimate Joseph Ambler Inn Wedding

One of the things I love about the local photography community here in Philadelphia is the ability to refer clients to some of the other talented people around me!  And to have them return the favor!  Grace of Right Start Photography sent Amy and Joe to us because they were already booked for their wedding date and from the moment we started messaging back and forth, I knew I was going to love them!  They chose to have their wedding at the beautiful Joseph Ambler Inn (one of my favorite venues!!!) and we had a beautiful spring day for their intimate afternoon wedding.

I love intimate weddings because the focus is less on the details and more on the couple, their love for each other and them getting to enjoy the day with their loved ones.  Amy and Joe have a sweet little guy who was born at the end of last year and he was the star of the day.  These two love that sweet little boy and so do their family and friends!

After a cocktail hour under the beautiful pavilion, we all headed to the lawn for their ceremony.  They exchanged sweet, personal vows with each other before they were pronounced husband and wife.  We even got to take a few minutes to shoot around the property before they shared a few toasts with their guests as the sun began to fade.  It was short and sweet and the perfect kind of wedding day!

Bethany and Jason - Philadelphia Spring Engagement Session

Things have been a little busy around here with the launch of our new business, Tantamount Love.  If you haven't heard about what that's all about, we launched a brand new business dedicated to doing more than paying lip service to the idea that #loveislove and the first 2 weeks have been amazing!  But now that things are starting to calm down, I have SO many sessions from the last few months that I want to share with all of you!  And up first is Bethany and Jason!

These two are seriously not only super cute together but really freaking funny!  They had me and Jordan laughing their entire session at The Philadelphia Museum of Art and were just the kind of couples we love working with.  They wanted a mix of sweet photos with a little bit of corny, funny photos and we loved the results.  They even brought their favorite comic books and books for a few shots!  These two tie the knot in January ans we are so so so excited to be apart of the barn wedding!  For now, though enjoy a few of our favorites from their spring e-shoot!

Alice and Brendan - A Newtown PA Engagement Session

I loved getting to photograph Alice and Brendan in Downtown Newtown Pa this winter!  These two are getting married this spring at an amazing brewery so we decided to spend their engagement session where they love to grab a beer and hang out!  Newtown is always gorgeous but we had so much fun finding little hidden alleys, cafe tables and hanging out around their favorite bar, Isaac Newtons!  I am SO excited for their May wedding and can't wait to see their unique, fun wedding day come to life!  Enjoy a few of my favorites!

Emily and TJ - A Merion Tribute House Winter Wedding

There are a few things that can send me into a tizzy on a wedding day and weather is one of those.  Add to that freezing temps and a bride that is also a friend, and let's just say, I was a little nervous to make sure I got this one right.  I also had never shot at The Merion Tribute House but its on my dream venue list for a while now!  But as soon as the zipper went up on Emily's custom David Tutera gown from L&H bridal, I went from nervous to completely excited for this sweet woman to marry the man of her dreams.  Emily and her dad shared the sweetest first look before she and TJ finally saw each other, and it was one of my favorite moments of the day.  With her mom looking on and her dad taking her hand to twirl her around, you could just feel the love and joy her parents had for her, which is exactly the kind of start I love for a wedding day.  With the help of our associate and second shooter Jessa, we shot TJ and Emily's first look and then moved straight on to their bridal party and family before it was time for these two to get married!

The ceremony was perfectly sweet with personalized vows and the sunset streaming in through the windows.  After finally being pronounced as husband and wife, we took a few minutes to photograph the newlyweds with the fading sun behind them before they went and enjoyed their cocktail hour!  I love first looks because they allow my couples to enjoy their day with each other and their guests rather than spending their cocktail hour taking photos!

Lauren from Bloomsbury Floral Designs created stunning bouquets, aisle details, centerpieces, and more to accent the winter colors, Elegance Artistry provided stunning (as always!!) hair and makeup and Blue Root Entertainment had the guests dancing all night long.  We lucked out that right before we left, the snow started back up for a few minutes and we were able to sneak TJ and Emily away for a few night photos in the snow.  It was the perfect ending to the most wonderful winter wedding!

TJ and Emily, thank you for allowing me and Jessa the honor of photographing your beautiful start to your own happily ever after.  I wish the happiest of lives together and I hope you enjoy your preview images!  We love ya'll!!

Emily and TJ - A Classic Philadelphia Engagement Session

It is crazy to think that I have known Emily for TEN years but it's true!  We met at college and I still remember my first impression of her was that I was jealous of her hair.  So silly right?  She rocked these awesome red and blonde highlights and always had the best style.  While her hair color has changed (like 100x times) since then, her style and sassy spirit have not.  I was SO excited when she reached out to see if I was available for her wedding and even more excited after I met TJ.  These two are so perfect together!  We spent the morning wandering around center city Philadelphia which made for the perfect background for their engagement session and we even were able to get their two cats to cooperate for a shot too!  I loved all the little spots we found, a few of which are now new favorites of mine!

I can't wait for these two to tie the knot in just a few weeks so get ready to see them again really soon!  Emily is going to be such a gorgeous bride!!!!  For now, enjoy a few of my favs from their Philly engagement session!

Bozek Family - Willow Grove Family Christmas Shoot

Only 3 days to go till Christmas and so the timing couldn't be more perfect to share this Christmas themed family shoot from a few weeks ago!  Dana and Bob have been some of our most loyal fans the last few years and I can't even begin to tell you HOW grateful we are for them.  Two years ago, I photographed their wedding and since have had the honor of photographing them a total of 6 times, which truly says a lot about the kind of impact we have both had on the other.  This year they welcomed a new little girl into their family and I finally got to meet her when we shot their family session!  Little M has grown to be the cutest little three year old and has the most darling personality, which I am sure you will see in their photos and baby S is so stinkin perfect.  We shot their family session in their home near Willow Grove and their apartment build was the PERFECT background for a session!  High ceilings, amazing light, their gorgeous tree, perfect styling (as always!) and fun Christmas details.

Happy first Christmas little S and Merry Christmas Bozek family!  Thank you for your love, constant support and being one of our favorite families!  We adore you and hope you love a few of our favorites!!!!

Mike and Seth - A Modern Foundry at the Filmore Wedding

It isn't often I get asked to do things that have never been done before, so when Mike and Seth asked if I would interested and available to photograph their wedding at the Foundry at the Fillmore, I jumped at the chance!!!  The Fillmore is one of the hottest new concert venues in Philadelphia and it has a gorgeous space called the Foundry, where these two cuties decided to tie the knot!  Instead of traditional tablescapes and formal traditions, Mike and Seth opted for a laid back, cocktail style affair that was so wonderful to be apart of!  Karen from the Foundry helped the guys with all of the details and was a joy to work with!  And Seth's mom took care of all the beautiful floral details, which brought the day together perfectly!  And even more awesome?  They both gifted each other with custom cufflinks!  Wait till you see them!

One of my favorite parts of this wedding was that they had a beautiful hotel suite downtown to get ready in together.  They helped each other put on their suits surrounded by their bridal party before venturing into city hall for a few portraits.  Watching these two button each others shirts and steal sweet kisses in between was a great reminder that sometimes spending the whole day together is more fun!  Their bridal party was hilarious and kept the whole afternoon full of laughter and honestly?  It was easily one of my favorite weddings of 2016.

I can't wait to be back at the Foundry on New Years Eve but this time not for work!  :)  I love this venue and can't recommend it enough if you are looking for an offbeat, creative venue for your wedding!  Enjoy (more than) a few of my favorites and a huge thank you to Seth and Mike for allowing me the honor of capturing your wedding day!

Alyssa and Bart - A Bradford Estate Winter Wedding

This blog post was originally scheduled for next Tuesday but I literally couldn't wait to post this final wedding of 2016!  Alyssa was one of my most excited brides of this year.  What felt like every other week, Alyssa was posting about how this had come in or she had met with one vendor another and HOW excited she was for her wedding day!  She truly was so excited to marry Bart and let me tell you, her not one but TWO wedding days were nothing short of perfect!  They even got snow Saturday morning which made for the perfect background for their portraits!

On Wednesday I met Alyssa, Bart and their families at Christ Church for a sweet ceremony where they officially became husband and wife.  They opted to do everything over two days which actually was a lot of fun!  Our new associate photographer Jessa helped me out (and did an amazing job for her first wedding!) and the whole day was just so full of happiness and joy.

Saturday afternoon we met them at the most gorgeous venue!  I had yet to shoot at the Bradford Estate, but oh my was it gorgeous!  The staff was delightful and the bridal suites?  Literally the most perfect spaces ever!  I wish I could shoot every bride in that room!  We took tons and tons of photos and then these two got to enjoy their cocktail hour with their guests before heading into the stunning ballroom for their reception.  Their DJ, SCE Event Group, did an over the top job and even made it SNOW inside for their first dance!  It was literally perfection.

Alyssa and Bart, I knew from our first email exchange that I was excited to work with the two of you.  What I didn't know then was how wonderful your families are, how much fun your wedding would be and how much Jordan, Jessa and I would love being apart of your wedding days.  You two are the best and I hope that you love the massive preview headed your way today!  Thank you, thank you for trusting me and being the best couple to close out 2016 with!  Enjoy some of my (many) favorites!

A HUGE thank you to our new associate and second shooter Jessa for some of these images!

Cinquino Family - Fall Family Mini Session

Now that the year is winding down, I am finally having a chance to share some of holiday mini sessions!  We spent 3 days shooting over 20 families and couples and had so so much fun!  One of those families is the Cinquino Family!  I got to know Cristina through a styled shoot I did in October and let me tell you this momma is one talented baker!!!  If you are EVER looking for a gorgeous custom cake, she is your lady.  You can find more of her gorgeous creations on facebook!  But in November, she and her family met us behind the Philadelphia Museum of Art for their mini session and it was SO fun!  Her three little are adorable and we had a great time getting some new family shots of them!  Check out a few of my favorites and look for more of our sessions on the blog this week!!!

Hallie and PJ - An Intimate Old City Philadelphia Wedding

Right now I am sitting at my desk, cuddled up under blankets and sweaters, rocking an end of season cold.  I have one more wedding (tomorrow!!!) left this season but I start up again January 1st!  While this time of year is stressful, busy, emotional and apparently full of germs, Last Sunday I got to take a few hours and capture the most beautiful, simple celebration of love.  Hallie and PJ decided to get married where they had gone on a date years before and let me tell you, Bistro Romano was not only gorgeous to photograph but a delight to work with!  Old City Philadelphia gave the perfect background for their portraits and after warming, Hallie and PJ walked hand down the aisle to become husband and wife.  It was such a change of pace for me, and a welcomed one.  These two so obviously love each other and the friends and family they chose to surround themselves with.  It was perfection.

While I drink lots of tea and try to feel better for tomorrow, enjoy a few of my favorites of this intimate Philadelphia Wedding!  A huge thank you to the staff at Bistro Romano for being amazing and providing my sweet couple with such a perfect day!  Congrats Mr and Mrs Leyh!!!

Debra and Lindsay - A Philadelphia Lesbian Anniversary Session

For many married couples, the day the get married is one of the only times they get photos together until they have kids.  Life gets busy, money tight and photos seem like one of those things that just isn't worth spending the time or money on.  And while I get it, life in all of its seasons ought to be captured.  It goes by so quickly and photos have a way of making us slow down and remember what a particular season of life was like.  Debra and Lindsay are two people that value photos and after being married 2 years, they are still looking for ways to have their love for each other captured!

On a very windy day earlier this month, Jordan and I got to spend some time with these two walking around behind the Philadelphia Museum of Art.  Debra hand made her flower crown and I loved how well their styled went together for this shoot!  Their love for each other was evident in the first 5 minutes and the two of them were great and posing from the start which made their mini session fly by and still allowed them to get so many great images!  And I mean come on!  The way Lindsay looks at her wife?  Swooning ya'll!

Enjoy a few of my favorites!

Holiday Mini Sessions!

We have gotten quite a few emails about if we were going to be offering any Holiday themed mini sessions and the answer is YES!  We are excited to announce that this year we will be offering Mini Sessions complete with cute Holiday props and set ups and that all funds raised will be donated to The Strong Catalyst!  They are a steal of a deal and we are certain the rest of them will go fast!

Each $60.00 session is 25 minutes long, includes 15 edited digital images, and a print release.  All sessions will take place in Valley Forge Park (exact location will be given out a few days before hand!) and must be paid in FULL in order to book your spot!  The rain dates will be scheduled in the event that we need to but even in light rain or cold, we will be shooting!  These are a great way to get a new family photo, headshot, photos with your love or fur baby!  And you are able to purchase the additional 20+ edits from your session for only $40 more!  Again, all funds will be donated, so you get a great deal and get to support a great cause!  Best of all?  THEY ARE OPEN TO EVERYONE!!!!!!!

So what is The Strong Catalyst you ask?  9 months ago Jordan and I created a community designed specifically for lesbian women, based right here in Philadelphia.  Visibility is one of the greatest struggles lesbians (and really women in general) face and we set out to give a platform for more faces, stories and experiences to express who they are!  And we've been pretty successful!  With 12 photo shoots, several events and one fundraiser under our belt, we are looking to branch out and create new community based experiences.  But since we have done all of this with our own money, resources are running low.  So our hope is these mini sessions help us raise enough funds to create support groups, community based events and bring more unique, relevant, needed resources to the lesbian women in our area!

These sessions will go quick!  So if you are interested, please visit the link below to purchase your timeslot!  Have questions?  Reach out to us at right now!  We can't wait for these fun, holiday and fall inspired sessions and to have you in front of our camera!

Mary and Arielle - A Philadelphia Lesbian Awbury Arboretum Wedding

I can't believe these two are finally married!!!!  It seems like its been forever since I first sat down with them and their amazing planner and dear friend of mine Ashley to talk about their wedding day.  I knew these two would be the most gorgeous brides and let me tell you, they were!!!!  The entire day was filled with laughter and every detail was perfect thanks to bASH events!  Its fun to get to work on a wedding where almost every vendor and person apart of Ashley's team was a friend!  This was the true example of it taking a village...and in this case, a beautiful very gay village!  And true to Ashley's style, her vision came to life for these two in a way that was beyond what I think of all of us expected!

My favorite moment, and probably my favorite first look ever, was when Arielle saw the back of Mary right before their first look.  As she was walking towards her, she had to stop and wipe away a few tears.  She kept saying how hott Mary looked and it was the cutest thing!  And then when they finally saw each other for the first time, it was so evident that these two couldn't wait to start this next chapter of their lives together.

From their perfect ceremony and their tear filled vows, to being surrounded by the people who clearly love and adore them, to dancing the night away...this is the kind of weddings I love to photograph.  Mary and Arielle...I am so so happy for the two of you.  I can't wait to send you the rest of your preview and to get you all of your images!  And thank you for allowing me the honor of photographing your wedding!  Here are a few of my favorites!

Monet and Daniel - A Philadelphia Skybox Wedding

I remember when Monet reached out me and asked if I was available to do some family photos of her and her sisters.  I had been following her for a while on facebook and from the moment she showed up at that shoot, something with us just clicked!  From there, she asked if I was available to photographer her wedding the following year and I immediately agreed!  Ever since then I had been looking forward to her SkyBox Events wedding in Fishtown!

Monet and Daniel are the kind of people you can tell are just madly in love.  And their ceremony was full of the kind of emotional vows that had me tearing up.  Their love for each other just shone through the day and it was so fun to see a bride be relaxed and present with their friends and family for the whole day.  And Monet was just a STUNNING bride.  Her bridal portraits are some of my all time favorites!  They spent their whole day laughing, drinking and dancing with the people who love them most and it was so much fun to photograph!

So while their wedding was just a few days ago, I am happy to be sharing their wedding with all of you!  Monet and Daniel - thank you for allowing me to be apart of your day, for getting the honor of capturing your start of the next chapter of your lives and for being such a great couple to work with!   Enjoy some of my favorites!!!

A huge thank you to the lovely team of people I got to work with!

Mott Family - A Greene Lane Park Family Session

I have known Jess for over 12 years and just typing that makes me somehow feel so much older than I am!  Jess was my high school youth leader and over the years we have stayed in touch via facebook!  She was always so sweet to me and my sister and to see her now a mom of two and wife to her back then boyfriend is so cool!  So when she asked if I was free to do some photos of their family, how could I say no?  I took their eldest 1 year photos FOUR years ago when I was just starting out and to now get to do the same for their newest little was such an honor!

With the Holiday's right around the corner, it's time to start thinking of your family's holiday cards and updating your family photo!  Whether your a family of two or family of eight, I would the chance to photograph you this year!  There is extremely limited availability for our special family mini shoot pricing this fall, so contact us soon if you were interested in scheduling yours!

Kait and Kevin - An Eastern University Engagement Session

I remember sitting in Starbucks, anxiously waiting for Kait and Kevin for our first meeting to talk about their wedding.  We had gone back and forth after being introduced online and I could already tell that Kait was the kind of bride I loved working with.  As soon as the both showed up and began talking about their wedding and what they envisioned, I knew I was right!  And not only are they planning the kind of wedding I love shooting, they are the kind of couple who's love radiated to everyone around them.  The way they look at each other and finish each others thoughts and are committed to building a life together...their love is evident in all they do and are.

So when it came time for their engagem
