Colonial Dames Rittenhouse Philadelphia LGBTQ Wedding

Have you ever walked into a space and immediately fallen in love? Well that was how I felt the first time I walked into Rittenhouse Philly venue, Colonial Dames. Nina and Theo picked this tucked away garden venue and when I arrived, I immediately told the sweet woman from the venue showing me around that “I need to shoot here every weekend.” Perhaps that was a little over zealous, but from the beautiful ballroom to the quaint downstairs to my favorite part, the backyard garden, it is a photographers dream venue! And I truly do hope more couples bring us there!!

Nina and Theo are also the kind of couple that didn’t get lost in the details of their day….their focus was on each other and getting to celebrate their love with the people whom they cared about most in this world. It meant that they had me there for a shorter amount of time than perhaps is “normal” but I loved that for them, their wedding wasn’t about all the details or the ton of portraits or dancing. It was about being together with the ones they love. And honestly, thats pretty special if you ask me. We started their day with portaits in the garden and then guests arrived for the ceremony. It was a ceremony filled with humor and heart, a beautiful reflection of who they are and what they value. Then we moved upstairs the ballroom where Vault and Vine had turned the space into an electic moody garden that made me fall in love with them as florists. (Shout out to Sarah for being INCREDIBLE - hire her friends!!!) And then they spent the rest of the night hanging out with everyone. It was so chill and happy and full of love and I loved every second of it! And I am excited to share some of my favorites with all of you!!
