Elopement

Jimmie and Chris - An Old City Philadelphia Rooftop Elopement

Old City Philly Rooftop Elopement 58.jpg

From my very first email exchange with Jimmie, I knew I would like these two. From her sense of humor, to the way she wanted their wedding day to be a celebration of them, to her openness to ideas, to the way she described her and Chris’s relationship, I knew they were the kind of couple I had to work with. Together we planned a weekday afternoon wedding a top Bridge On Race Apartments (where Jordan and I live) and for them to get ready at Lokal Hotel, which is right around the corner and then end the evening with some portraits.

The day of their elopement there was not a cloud in the sky. Their suite at Lokal Hotel was bustling with their friends and family and Jimmie and Chris getting ready. After taking some photos of each of them getting dressed we did a little first look in a gorgeous alley right beside their hotel. This was my favorite part of the day…watching Chris see his beautiful bride for the first time and to see him cry with joy, it was just so beautiful. These two really love each other and it was so evident in that moment as well as in their vows a few minutes later.

They said “I do” 18 floors high overlooking the Ben Franklin Bridge with 6 of their favorite people around them. They chose to self unite, or have a Quaker Ceremony, which allowed them to not need an officiant. This made their wedding ceremony so perfectly them. Their vows were long and sweet, giggles were shared, her mom took photos and with a kiss it was all official. They were married! After pausing to take some photos of them with their guests, we headed down the street to the Painted Bride for some photos of the two of them. I loved this time with the two of them, the way they just laughed and made jokes, the way they were just so completely themselves. And it shows in their images, which made my initial thought true…I really did like these two!

Jimmie and Chris, thank you for allowing me to be apart of your start of this next new adventure. You two are so much fun and even though this blog post is far too late, I couldn’t not share your incredible day! Enjoy a few of my favorites!

Andrea and Michael - A West Chester Horse Farm Elopement

Andrea and Michael West Chester Elopement-140.jpg

On a cool fall day, Andrea and Michael said "I Do" in the middle of a bridge surrounded by horses and their love for each other and they invited me along to capture it for them.  Elopements are something I treasure being able to photograph.  Vows are often whispered in a lovers ear, hands are held tighter, emotions felt stronger and the day is less about the trappings and more about each other.  And that is exactly how I would describe the day Andrea and Michael became husband and wife.  With only myself, Andrea's mom and their adorable chihuahua in attendance, we spent about an wandering the grounds of this beautiful estate together.  And it was perfection.

Andrea and Michael have gone through a lot together, so I reached out my dear friend Lauren, owner of Bloomsbury Floral Design about putting together a bouquet for Andrea and she created the most beautiful fall inspired bouquet.  The pops of color went perfect against her custom black gown and his suit and I am just so grateful to Lauren for always having the most creative eye and giving heart.

Enjoy just a few of my favorites!

Kate - Bridal Boudoir Session

If you are anything like us, waiting is not fun!  As soon as we photographed Kate's gorgeous boudoir session and wedding day, we knew waiting to share these images was going to be so hard but since we have officially been published on Equally Wed, we can now finally share some of favorite images from Kate and Celeste's wedding day!  And up first is the bridal boudoir session with did with Kate the morning of her elopement!  We asked her to share a little of what that experience was like and this is what she sent over to us!

"I feel extremely lucky to have worked with Amanda for my elopement day boudoir shoot. She'd suggested that I bring some sexy outfits to shoot in but as you might expect, my 'bride-to-be' brain was not really able to organize my outfits for this part very well. Amanda & Jordan totally took care of it & calmed me down while reassuring me that we would get a lot of beautiful shots. My situation was unique because many of my wedding guests & family members were hanging out in the studio and watching me take my clothes off on my wedding day but Amanda helped me focus and kept me calm. Amanda's photography assistants, the other awesome vendors, & Jordan made sure to crack jokes the entire time so I hardly had time to worry about being bashful. Amanda was also able to use a small space incredibly effectively and managed to get several different settings & outfits into a quick shoot with ease. I am so grateful to the entire team for capturing the joy I had on the day I married my best friend & for making me feel special the entire day!"

I can't wait to share the rest of their wedding day with all of you later this week!  This unique elopement is one that I will never ever forget and I couldn't have pulled it off without our amazing vendor team!!!
