Amanda and Joe - Old City Philadelphia Summer Maternity Session

Amanda Old City Philadelphia Maternity Session-86.jpg

I have known Amanda since high school but can then I never would have thought she and I would grow up to have spouses who adore us, photography business that are thriving and now her having a sweet baby boy on the way. So much has changed since the days at Pennsbury High School, both in the world and large in and in our personal lives, but it was so nice to catch up with her and her husband Joe to document this exciting new chapter in their lives. We spent an hour in one of my favorite parts of the city, Old City Philadelphia, photographing the two of them and I just am in love with how this turned out! I can’t wait to meet their baby boy arriving any time now and to see the incredible person these two amazing parents raise.

Enjoy some of my favorites!

Jenna - Philadelphia Doula Branding Session

Jenna Philadelphia Doula Headshots-10.jpg

Meet Jenna, an incredible queer doula located in Philadelphia and to be completely honest, one of the most down to earth humans I have ever met.  Owner of Love Over Fear Wellness, Jenna teaches Yoga, assists folxs with birth and educates a lot people along the way.  We wanted to create images that were both professional but also felt true to who Jenna is as a person, I personally loved the results.  Sessions like these get me so excited because they aren't about typical or traditional headshots, but about showcasing a clients personality, spirit and passion in images they can use across their social media and business.  Which, is honestly a whole lot of fun!    We shot around Jasper Studio (where our studio is located) and I love the images of Jenna talking about what they do because the passion Jenna has for their work is just obvious!

I am incredibly excited to introduce all of you to Jenna and share some of my fav images from our session!  Should you be in need of a doula who is trauma informed, LGBTQ+ competent and sweet as can be, please reach out to Jenna and let them know I sent ya their way!

Alissa and Kim - Philadelphia Magic Garden Engagement Session

Alissa and Kim - Philadelphia Magic Garden Engagement Session

We started the shoot by walked around the area where Magic Gardens is, taking in South Streets cute side streets and cool murals before heading into the gardens!  Alissa and Kim are hilarious and so sweet, making it fun to photograph them together!  We shot between the other people also visiting the gardens but despite there being tons of people there, their images look like it was just them

Meg and Kevin - A Classic Old City Philadelphia Engagement Session

These two sweeties hired us to shoot their January 2018 wedding and we finally got to meet them on Saturday evening and Kevin was so down to do whatever to make his bride to be (and me!) happy!  I am in love with these photos and it was awesome to shoot in a location I haven't been to in awhile!  Old City Philadelphia did not disappoint and I got spoiled with allll the gorgeous glowy light!

Jessica - Pinup Session in Old City Philadelphia

Strong Four-178.jpg

I remember this day last spring like it was yesterday.  Jessica walked up to our group for a shoto for The Strong Catalyst and instantly I knew I was going to really really like this chick.  Her pinup style, those piercing eyes, her sarcasm, humor and then she dropped the bombshell that she also owned a lingerie company.  And as they say, the rest is history.

Recently I realized how many of my shoots never made it to the blog and I just couldn't let beautiful images like this one just sit on my hard drive so better late than never, I am sharing these photos!   I love Jess's style, that color on her and the way she looks both classic and fresh.  And don't even get me started on how much Jordan and I adore her as a person too!  Enjoy a handful of my favorites and look for more blog posts from when Strong Shoots coming soon!!!

Eric and JeVon - A Sweetheart Session in Manayunk PA

Gay Sweetheart Session Manayunk Philadelphia

I have known Eric a little over a year and always found him to be one of the sweet men I know.  He listens well, is always so friendly, deeply cares about the Philly LGBTQ community and is the kind of person you want around when your having a rough day.  He has always been SO supportive of Jordan and I which means so much to me.  So when we got together yesterday with his handsome boyfriend JeVon, magic happened.  These two are so adorably in love and easy to photograph!  So much so that this morning while trying to choose favorites for their preview, I literally edited the whole session!  I just couldn't choose!

Main Street of Manayunk made the perfect backdrop for their session and the glowy summer sun paired with the way these two look at each other made for some of my favorite images in a while.  After months of weddings, shooting a slow paced sweetheart session was a welcomed change of pace and I am thrilled to share some of my favorites with all of you!

Eric and JeVon, thank you for allowing me steal ya'll for an hour and a half yesterday, for the beautiful flowers and mostly for the good conversation and your friendship.  You are both such wonderful people and I am so glad we have folks like ya'll in our lives.

Debra and Lindsay - A Philadelphia Lesbian Anniversary Session

For many married couples, the day the get married is one of the only times they get photos together until they have kids.  Life gets busy, money tight and photos seem like one of those things that just isn't worth spending the time or money on.  And while I get it, life in all of its seasons ought to be captured.  It goes by so quickly and photos have a way of making us slow down and remember what a particular season of life was like.  Debra and Lindsay are two people that value photos and after being married 2 years, they are still looking for ways to have their love for each other captured!

On a very windy day earlier this month, Jordan and I got to spend some time with these two walking around behind the Philadelphia Museum of Art.  Debra hand made her flower crown and I loved how well their styled went together for this shoot!  Their love for each other was evident in the first 5 minutes and the two of them were great and posing from the start which made their mini session fly by and still allowed them to get so many great images!  And I mean come on!  The way Lindsay looks at her wife?  Swooning ya'll!

Enjoy a few of my favorites!

Kris and Mu - An Urban Reading Viaduct Engagement Session

This engagement session is a different one for us!  While most of our clients opt for a park or downtown Philadelphia for their engagement shoot, Kris and Mu asked if we could take their engagement photos at a totally unique location!  We explored the Reading Viaduct - a former railway that has since then been abandoned.  It's urban feel, overgrown fields, graffiti and gorgeous views of center city made it the perfect location!  And there was even a sweet little swing!  So while this isn't our normal vibe here at Swiger Photography, we are so happy with the results!

Check out a few of our favorites from their session and get ready to see these two again really soon as their wedding date is fast approaching!
