Lillian and Kate - Philly City Hall Elopement

What happens when combine beautiful florals by Bllomsbury Floral Design, custom suits by Bindle and Keep, a love of Giovanni’s Room Bookstore and the cutest lesbian couple eloping at Philadelphia City Hall? Well you get one hella cute queer elopement that’s what! Lillian and Kate were not only so incredible sweet but the whole day I was overwhelmed with the feeling that these two not only have so much love for each other, but also have so much love from their families too! Before their Philly City Hall Elopement, we wandered around Center City taking some portraits of them and then met up with three of their closest family members! These two had such huge smiles while they became Mrs and Mrs and it was just a joy to document!

Afterward we headed to a very special spot for them, Giovanni’s Room Bookstore by Philly Aid’s Thrift Store and they graciously allowed us to take some portraits there as well! I love how Lillian and Kate wanted to incorporate their love of queer books into their day and I really loved the way their suits and florals just popped in that space! We ended the afternoon by wandering through Washington Square Park and Old City and from top to bottom, this was my favorite elopement this year! And when you scroll through this photo’s you’ll see why! I can’t wait to work with these two again next year for their reception but for now enjoy my many favorites from their wedding day!

Jenne and Julian - A University of Penn Intimate Queer Wedding

JenneandJulianQueerPhillyWedding-134.jpg

Jenne and Julian had one of the most unique weddings I have ever been apart of and to be honest, I loved it! We didn’t do a big first look, there was amazing vegan food, square-dancing that was taught by an instructor during the reception and a ton of time for portraits through out the day. The University of Penn was the most incredible background for their intimate wedding and they were also just so sweet to be around. Jenne wore the most lovely short lace dress that looked incredible on them with beautiful handmade flowers by another one of their partners! Both Jenne and Julian had their other partners support layered in through out the day and it was beautiful to witness and photograph! The couple also went to great efforts to ensure that their guests could enjoy the food, even getting. cake that catered to a few of their friends dietary needs and it was so so beautiful to see this sense of community and love through all of it. Oh! And Julian even made a Ring Bot to deliver their rings during their ceremony! How fun is that?? And while I had a hard time narrowing it down, here are just some of my favorite images of the two of them as I wanted to share this wedding without infringing on the privacy of their guests! Enjoy!!

Kimberly - Dapper South Philly Headshot Session

Strong Eleven-101.jpg

I have always thought Kimberly has the BEST style and so when I was able to photographer her as part of The Strong Catalyst's Queer Women of Color shoot, I was pretty excited!  These shoots go really fast and so often I am having to photograph each woman in a matter of minutes but Kimberly was such a natural that we got a lot of different shots!  The free sessions are to help showcase the diversity in the Philadelphia LGBTQ community and each of the participants get to have a few new portraits of themselves as well!  And rumor has it, that there is another shoot happening soon!  If you are a LGBTQ woman in the Philly area, reach out and I'll get you all the details!  For now, enjoy a few of my favorites of this dapper AF veteran!

Harker - Black and White Old City Session

SS5 (31).jpg

Last week I shared that I am trying to blog more of my work that has been sitting on my hard drive for months and today I am sharing some of my favs from this shoot from last summer with Harker.  She's not only gorgeous (I mean do you see that smile?!) but also has a heart of gold.  Her passion for social justice and all around badassery is just two of the many reasons everyone should know about her, but what I love most is how highly her friends speak of her.  To me, there is nothing more telling of a persons character than hearing over and over how awesome, kind and loving someone is, and that's exactly the way people have described her to me.  Enjoy a few of my favs from our session together!!

Nicole - A soft and edgy boudoir session

This session is one I have been meaning to blog for a few weeks now but my personal life has been crazy doing all kinds of things for The Strong Catalyst.  But now that life is normal again, I am SO excited to share this soft and edgy studio boudoir session!  Nicole is one of funniest, sweetest people I know and you may see these photos and think you've seen her before on Swiger Photography.  And you're right!  You have!  I photograph this family every year for their holiday cards but I was so excited to just photograph Nicole and have some fun in the studio!  She brought a little bit of soft, sensuality and then a whole lot of edgy sexy too and to me, it was the perfect shoot!  Its fun when I get to shoot women I already know and adore and to create magic with them...and thats exactly what I would say this shoot was.  Magic.

Nicole, you already know I adore you and your family but I hope this images show you a new side to yourself and that this won't be the last time I get to photograph just you!  Thank you for answering my model call, being a phenomenal friend and for always supporting everything Jordan and I do.  We love you!!!!  Now enjoy just a handful of my favs!

Lee and Alex - A Valley Forge Park Queer Engagement Session

I can't believe that I will have the honor of photographing these two again in just FIVE days!  Lee and Alex are tying the knot on Saturday at a family farm and last weekend we met up to shoot their engagement photos!  It was so fun getting to this awesome couple as we explored around Valley Forge National Park!  From the moment we started taking pictures, it was obvious that their love is built on a lot of laughter.  And coming from 2 years of marriage, I can tell you that a love that is full of laughter makes for the best kind of life!  But seriously though, these two are so easy going, down to earth and obviously in love that you can't help but like being around them.

Lee and Alex, I can't wait for this weekend and being so honored to capture the start of this exciting next chapter in your lives.  I am crossing my fingers for the perfect weather and the most amazing day for the two of you!  For now, enjoy a few of my favs and look forward to seeing them again real soon!

Stephanie - The Worthy Headshot Shoot at Ridley State Park

Ohhhhh ya'll this is a good one.  I have known of Stephanie for a long time.  Its hard to be out in the LGBTQ scene in Philly and not have run into this pretty lady but I hadn't ever had the chance to hang out and talk to her before!  And let me tell you, this sex educator is so down to earth!  Not to mention stunningly beautiful.

She started a little nervous but by the time I showed her a few frames, the nerves calmed and the magic began!  I think for some of us, as comfortable in our own skin as we are, its nerve wracking to have your photo taken.  But we are all worthy of having beautiful headshots and a great experience getting them and judging by the comments on facebook, it seems she loves the results!

Stephanie, Jordan and I loved having the chance to photograph you and get to know you better!  You seriously killed your session and I can't wait to follow along with all the places you will be using your headshots!  And seriously, you're gorgeous girl!
